Provide an overview of the www.maylandhomeownership.com website and features available to consumers and licensees. Specific mortgage options and related financing programs and incentives offered by Maryland housing financing agency and other local entities. These programs are primarily targeted to first time home buyers and eligible buyers in the workforce who meet certain income guidelines. Additionally, information on homebuyer education and working with housing counselors will be reviewed. There will also be a discussion about foreclosure prevention options for homeowners.

FEDERAL PROGRAMS AND NATIONAL INITIATIVES includes information on programs and new regulations for HUD/FHA/VA/USDA, as well as national private sector/guaranty programs.  

STATE AND LOCAL PROGRAMS  provides fundamentals about state and local programs available for low/no down payment, closing cost grants, extended term mortgages, as well as other tax credits, plus government resources for homeownership education and counseling. The course also provides an overview of Maryland REALTORS® consumer website www.maryland homeownership.com. 

MARYLAND MORTGAGE PROGRAM & MARYLAND HOMECREDIT PROGRAM leads with a comprehensive discussion of the various Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) mortgage products and programs including qualifications, income guidelines, and special incentive areas.  

UNDERSTANDING CREDIT  is an introduction to the world of credit and credit reports and answers the questions from learning who the main credit agencies are and how do they calculate scores, to the understanding of what this means and how REALTORS® can educate their clients.
